Date published: 8th Jun 2023

May has been a month of ups and downs, with plenty of quality releases but also your fair share of Ed Sheeran and The Jonas Brothers too. We are here to trawl through the albums released this month and highlight the very best that you simply shouldn't miss out on. Check them out below.

Kaytramine- Kaytramine

An exciting collaboration between two characters who suit each other's personalities perfectly. It has resulted in an album that is packed full of exuberance, with Amine's flows perfectly in tune with Kaytranada's beats. It is an album that is perfect for summer and you can read more about it in our review here.

Water From Your Eyes- Everyone's Crushed

One of the most eccentric albums of the year, Water From Your Eyes have definitely made an impression. Taking a bombastic and exciting approach to indie rock, this duo are masters of carving pure chaos with plenty of digital noise interlocking with their grounded, lo-fi tones.

Mandy, Indiana- I've Seen A Way

This quartet from Manchester are a name you need to know in 2023. Their debut album is a beautiful mix of dance music beats with guitars that have an excitable and euphoric feel to them. Some of their synths feel as if they originated on another planet, the album feels like a completely refreshing new sound.

Sparks- The Girl Is Crying In Her Latte

Sparks returned to bring us more art-pop in May in what is their 26th album. It has been an incredible career for the duo and they are still finding ways to occupy their own, eccentric bubble within pop. Fans new and old will enjoy this Sparks album where they are still determined to try new things.

Hannah Jadagu- Aperture

Hannah Jadagu's debut album asserts her as a seriously talented writer. Here you'll find her trawling through the experiences that have made her who she is as she enters her twenties, it's a lesson in the fact that these experiences are needed to make you who you are. She surrounds her stories in fizzling, textural indie rock.
