Biography

Choir was established in 2018 by leading choir director Helen Garnett. Helens previous choir Hot Gospel was established 2004 and progressed with a rebirth in G Choir. They started with a handful of focused singers growing rapidly into a tight well-rehearsed ministry comprised of singers from the East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire regions.

The choir has a very experienced team at the helm who has taken the choir to BBC Songs Of Praise Gospel Choir of the year as finalists. Performed for BBC Verve festival and the choir has been booked to perform at the internationally renowned gospel festival in Rajadell, Barcelona along with working alongside Revive Church, Kingston Upon Hull who regularly partners with G Choir, and various outreach events nationally. Helen encourages all of the choir members to be the best they can be and always set the bar higher in term of their personal vocal goals coaching out the best in her G Choir members. This being said the choir also party together and one could describe them as a family. Our shared experiences create a sense of unity and support. We also love to welcome new members into the fold.

The choir repertoire consists of well-known contemporary gospel songs by artists such as Donald Lawrence, Kirk Franklin, Rev Milton Brunson, James Cleveland, Fred Hammond, and many more.

Over the years Helen and her choirs have forged many relationships with industry leaders such as Bazil Meade (Our choir patron) Donald Lawrence GTM Ministries and Ramon Escale leading to some fantastic experiences and amazing support. Joining G Choir will change your life and bring some incredible experiences to your life.
