Review of Bungo's Basement Comedy Club Strathbungo

I'm really sorry to have to say this but I went to a comedy event at this venue yesterday night and it was extremely mediocre.

Nothing against the comedians (some I liked, some less, that's just a question of taste) but the venue in that basement was technically awful. The microphone was so bad we could barely hear the comedians and they were visibly struggling, constant La**en effects (humming noises) adding to the distraction, and the only spotlight was randomly left on the bar so everyone going to/leaving the toilet was eclipsing the comedians into their shadow...

It felt like everything was made to distract the audience from the comedy!!

This venue really needs someone who knows anything about sound and light. I left before the main act and only didn't ask for a refund because I really want to support grassroot stand up comedy. I've been to free events that were much better. Most disappointed I've ever been after a stand up comedy night. A disgrace.

Enjoyable, comedy acts good ... particularly the newcomers! Venue was a bit chilly, bar staff very nice.
